The Child Development and Growth classes at Trenton High School will begin lab school for preschool children on April 16.
The philosophy of the program, which is for children ages three to six, is to emphasize independent thinking and problem solving. The program provides a wide variety of activities for six learning centers: arts and crafts; blocks; language and listening; manipulative; science and nature; and dramatic play. THS students guide children in selecting and completing activities appropriate to their abilities and interests. The focus of the 2004 lab school will be on computer skills. The child will have the opportunity to work with computer programs during each lab.
The lab school is scheduled for 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on April 16, 22 and 30 and March 6 and 12 in the THS Family and Consumer Science room. To enroll children in the program, persons are asked to contact Connie Hoffman at 359-2291 during the day and or 359-4232 after 7 p.m.
