The Grundy County Local Emergency Planning Committee is seeking volunteers for a Community Emergency Response Team.

The CERT program trains community volunteers in disaster survival and basic rescue skills. CERT teams can be called on to assist emergency personnel in case of a disaster.

The course will be led by LEPC members who have recently completed the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s CERT Trainer course. The first class session will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6 at the Grundy County Health Department meeting room, located on the lower level. Course materials will be provided free of charge to all participants. There is a class limit of 25 and persons wanting to take the course may register with John Beier at 359-5154 or 359-6819. More information is available from Beier or from Elizabeth Gibson at 359-4196.
