Marilyn L. Hickman, a 67-year-old resident of Pleasant Hill, died on Sunday, March 21, 2004 at her home.

Marilyn L. Hickman, a 67-year-old resident of Pleasant Hill, died on Sunday, March 21, 2004 at her home.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, under the direction of the Stanley and Son Funeral Home at Pleasant Hill. Rev. Roger R. Nelson officiated.

Mrs. Hickman was born on April 7, 1936 at Princeton, the daughter of Earl Glen and Pearl Josephine LaFever Oswalt. She lived the first part of her life in Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School. She lived in Independence prior to moving to Pleasant Hill in 1990.

She was married on June 17, 1956 at Princeton to James Hickman, who survives her of the home.

In addition to her husband, other survivors include four sons, James Michael Hickman of Chicago, IL and Steven L. Hickman, Jeffrey Hickman and Christopher D. Hickman, all of Independence; one daughter, Patricia Graves of Lone Jack; three brothers, Dean Oswalt of Princeton, Harold L. Oswalt of Grandview and Ronnie Oswalt of Chillicothe; three sisters, Norma Oswalt and Barbara McLin, both of Trenton, and Kay Cornwell of Raytown; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Elna Noland, who died in 1986.
