Carl Johnson, an 83-year-old resident of Sunnyview Nursing Home at Trenton, died at 12:30 a.m. today (Tuesday, March 16, 2004) at the nursing home, where he had resided since Nov. 23, 1999. He was a lifelong resident of Trenton.

Carl Johnson, an 83-year-old resident of Sunnyview Nursing Home at Trenton, died at 12:30 a.m. today (Tuesday, March 16, 2004) at the nursing home, where he had resided since Nov. 23, 1999. He was a lifelong resident of Trenton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2004 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery in Mercer County. There is no family visitation planned.
Mr. Johnson was born on March 13, 1921 at Modena, the son of Allen and Clara Washburn Johnson. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1938 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945. He returned to Trenton after his service time and was employed at a D-X station for several years. He was employed by Trenton Foods from 1963 until his retirement in 1984.
Mr. Johnson was married on Dec. 6, 1980 at Trenton to Margaret Evelyn Chapman Brown, who preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 2003.
He is survived by two sisters, Floie, now Mrs. O.C. Ralls of Wichita, KS, and Frances Wallace of Galesburg, IL; and 10 nieces and nephews, Bobby and Billy McCoullugh, Gary and Robert Johnson, Jimmy Dale Davidson, Becky Baker, Debbie McWilliams, Hildred Beverage, Helen Abbey and Pattie Ann Johnson.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Veach and Mary McCoullugh; and one brother, Amos Johnson.
