The Board of Directors of the Green Hills Community Action Agency held its monthly meeting Tuesday night at the Trenton office, hearing reports and approving the annual audit report.

According to information provided by CAA Administrative Assistance Lisa Hostetler, the board approved the job description for a family planning licensed clinic manager/education coordinator and gave its approval to the annual agency audit, prepared by Randall Fiene, CPA. A review of the Affirmative Action Plan took place, with Committee Chairman Rev. Walter Griffen stating that the CAA?s staffing pattern and client service data are comparable and within Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action guidelines.

Executive Director Don Warren reported on the agency?s 2004 housing projects, stating that funding for nine new single-family homes was approved by the Missouri Housing Development Commission. Three homes will be constructed in Hamilton, with three more in Brookfield and three others in Unionville.

Budgets were approved, including the family planning program budget was approved, showing $135,000 in estimated income and $228,000 in Missouri Family Health Council Title X funding. An estimated 2,450 unduplicated users will be served with the funds between April 21, 2004 and March 31, 2005. Also approved was the Energy Crisis Intervention Program contract amendment to increase the budget by $55,868 to supplement heating and cooling assistance to eligible households. The amendment will raise the ECIP funds to a total of $380,736. In addition, the Linn County Emergency Food and Shelter Program budget for the period of March 1, 2004 to Sept. 30, 2004 was approved, showing funds of $11,565 would be spent assisting eligible families in Linn County with meals, food vouchers, shelter, mortgage/rent assistance or utility assistance.

In other business, the board reviewed the 2004 Federal Poverty Guidelines, which are used by staff for applicable programs to determine eligibility for service, and approved the FY03 Results Oriented Management and Accountability Report. The board also heard an update on the agency?s strategic plan, which is slated for completion by May 1.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6.
