Doris Mozena Spainhour, a 79-year-old resident of Chillicothe and former resident of Chula, died today (Tuesday, March 2, 2004) at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.

Doris Mozena Spainhour, a 79-year-old resident of Chillicothe and former resident of Chula, died today (Tuesday, March 2, 2004) at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery at Chula.

No family visitation is planned. Friends may call after 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at the funeral home and from 8 a.m. until service time on Thursday.

Mrs. Spainhour was born on July 15, 1924 in rural Chula, the daughter of Mose Martin and Flora Anderson Thompson. She graduated in 1942 from Chula High School. She was married at Troy, KS in 1946 to Everett Edward Spainhour, who preceded her in death in 1988.

Mrs. Spainhour was a member of the Union Baptist Church of Chula and the Young of Heart Club, also of Chula. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Claude Spainhour and his wife, Kelly of Chillicothe and Kent Spainhour of Chillicothe; one daughter, Sharon Narr and her husband, Terry, of Wheeling; two step-sons, Harold Spainhour and his wife, Beverly, of Hale and Floyd Spainhour of Hale; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; a daughter-in-law, Aerwana Spainhour; a granddaughter, Linda Louise Spainhour; and a grandson, Carlton Everett Spainhour.
