Fay M. Marshall, a 95-year-old resident of Kirksville, died on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Fay M. Marshall, a 95-year-old resident of Kirksville, died on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home In Unionville. Fred Green officiated. Burial was in the Unionville Cemetery at Unionville.

Mrs. Marshall was born on Oct. 15, 1908 at Omaha, MO, the daughter of William Sherman and Dora Abbott Mullins. She received her early education at the Berry School. She was graduated from Unionville High School and Northeast Missouri State Teachers College at Kirksville. She was a teacher for 23 years, teaching at the Berry School, the King School and Livonia in Putnam County, Stone Hill in Dent County, Glenwood in Schuyler County, Baring in Knox County, Laredo in Grundy County and Clarksdale in DeKalb County. She taught the last three years in western Kansas and southwest Nebraska. She retired from teaching in 1967, moving to Kirksville to make her home. She was one of the first residents of Residential Care Center and The Arbors.

She was married on Oct. 31, 1931 at Purdin to Lloyd Vester Marshall, who preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1994.

Mrs. Marshall was a member of Meadow Brook Christian Church in Kirksville, Parson Chapter No. 189, Order of the Eastern Star in Trenton and was an active member of Chapter C.S. P.E.O. at Laredo for several years.

Mrs. Marshall is survived by one brother, Jay W. Mullins of Livonia; four nephews; three nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Doris Schelle; one sister-in-law, June Mullins; and two nieces, Michelle Bailey and Elizabeth Mullins.
