Marion Willa Beckner Cooper, a 77-year-old resident of rural Chillicothe, died on Friday, Feb. 20, 2004 at the Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.

Marion Willa Beckner Cooper, a 77-year-old resident of rural Chillicothe, died on Friday, Feb. 20, 2004 at the Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.
Private graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004 at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Chillicothe. Rev. K.W. Peery officiated. Family members served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Cooper was born on May 7, 1926 in Livingston County, the daughter of Burl L. and Mabel Bulyer Beckner. She was a 1942 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She was retired from the State Training School for Girls in Chillicothe, where she was an assistant advisor. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of Chillicothe.
She was married on April 27, 1945 in Kansas City, KS to Ralph Cooper, who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Gary Cooper and his wife, Gail, of Odessa; two daughters, Joyce Byler and her husband, Sam, of Liberty, and Willa Jo Redford and her husband, Marcus, of Chillicothe; a daughter-in-law, Mary Templeman Cooper of Tulsa, OK; a sister, Eva Foley of Macon; a half-sister, Juanita Ellington of Trenton; and eight grandchildren, Amber and April Redford of Chillicothe, Melissa Byler of Peoria, IL, Wes Byler of Kansas City, Ryan Cooper of Reno, NV, Jay and Cara Cooper of Tulsa, OK and Dan Cooper of Norman, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Carl Neal Cooper, who died on March 13, 2002; a granddaughter, Kristine Cooper, who died in August 2000; a brother, Kenneth Beckner; a half-brother, Raymond Beckner; and a half-sister, Eulalia Craig.
