A representative and alternate will be elected by eligible low-income participants of the Grundy County Service Center to serve a two-year term on the Area Governing Board of the Green Hills Community Action Agency.

The nomination and balloting process is now under way and continue through April 2. Diana Hoppe, director of the service center, said that any certified low-income individual may place his or her name in nomination or nominate another eligible person to be the CAA board representative from Grundy County. Nominations will be taken until March 12 at the service center, located at 1506 Oklahoma Ave. in Trenton, during regular office hours on Monday through Friday and during the Feb. 19 advisory board meeting. Once the nominating process closes, balloting will be done from March 15 to April 2 at the service center, with all certified low-income residents of Grundy County being eligible to vote.

In order to place a name in nomination or vote, persons must be at least 18 years of age, must be a resident of the county he or she wishes to vote in, must have a total family income at or below the current federal poverty guidelines (which are available at the service center) and must sign a prepared statement acknowledging and verifying the eligibility requirements are met.

For more information or to make a nomination, persons can contact Mrs. Hoppe or Debbie Cribb at 359-6863.
