Mrs. Almeda G. Salley, a 93-year-old resident of Huntington Beach, CA, died on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004 at the Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, Newport Beach, CA.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton. Rev. Renee Weigel will officiate. Burial will be at Rural Dale Cemetery, east of Trenton.
A general visitation will begin after 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004.
Mrs. Salley was born on Jan. 29, 1911 in Trenton, the daughter of Selah Hart and Ella Daisy Bickel Murphy. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1929. She lived in Trenton and Kansas City, then moved to Huntington Beach in 1973. She was a member of the Plymonth Congregational Church in Newport Beach.
She was married on Nov. 23, 1933 at Kansas City to Charles Salley, who preceded her in death in May 1972.
Survivors include one daughter, Constance Knott and her husband, David, of Huntington Beach; one granddaughter, Salley Westcott of New Market, MD; one grandson, Kevin Knott of Orangevale, CA; and three great-grandchildren, Garth Westcott of New Market, Grace Westcott of New Market and Melinda Drotar of Orangevale.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Homer Murphy, Wesley Murphy and Donald Murphy; and one sister, Lucille Mutti.
