Carolee McCrary, an 88-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Monday, Feb. 16, 2004 at the Indian Hills Retirement Village at Chillicothe. She was a life-long resident of Chula.

Carolee McCrary, an 88-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Monday, Feb. 16, 2004 at the Indian Hills Retirement Village at Chillicothe. She was a life-long resident of Chula.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Meadville Cemetery at Meadville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004 and from 8 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
Mrs. McCrary was born on Feb. 2, 1916 in Browning, the daughter of Blaine and Bessie Carter Fleming. She graduated from Purdin High School in 1933 and then became a teacher. She was a member of the Alpha Baptist Church at Chula and was a Sunday school teacher there for 35 years.
She was married on Nov. 27, 1935 at Browning to Raymond McCrary, who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, other survivors are one son, James “Jim” McCrary and his wife, Carole, of Canton, IL; three grandchildren and their spouses, Wendy McCrary of West Palm Beach, FL, Robin and Rick Severs of Macomb, IL and Michael and Robyn McCrary of Springfield, OH; and four great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Paige McCrary of Springfield, OH and Grant and Nick Severs of Macomb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, F.A. Fleming; and one sister, Ruth Fleming.
