Nelson Wimmer, an 81-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 11:46 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at the First Christian Church in Trenton. Rev. Daryl Mayfield will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Trenton.
An open visitation is now under way at Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton.
Mr. Wimmer was born on Jan. 1, 1923 at Pattonsburg, the son of James Lane and Jesse Leona Burton Wimmer. He graduated from Chula High School. He was married at Trenton on Feb. 28, 1928 to Pauline Offield, who preceded him in death on July 18, 1993. The couple lived in Farmersville before moving to Trenton in 1963. He worked for his brother as a wholesale auto parts distributor become becoming self-employed as a carpenter and painter. He was a member of the First Christian Church at Trenton.
Mr. Wimmer is survived by a brother-in-law, Stephen Offield of Kansas City; two nephews, Gary Wimmer of Chillicothe and Stanley Offield of Kansas City; and a niece, Marjorie.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elvin Wimmer.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the First Christian Church in Trenton.
