Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Trenton, with Rev. Tim Hughs officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Open visitation is in progress at Slater Funeral Home.
Mrs. Huffman was born May 5, 1917 in Floris, IA, the daughter of Hughlet J. and Fanny VanGelder Bedford. She attended the Christian Union Church in Indianola. She had lived in Trenton, Chillicothe and Eldon, IA, before moving to Indianola.
She was married to James E. ?Bud? Huffman at Lancaster on June 1, 1940. He preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1969.
Mrs. Huffman is survived by one son-in-law, Johnny Egeland of Trenton; five grandchildren, including Richard Huffman and Wanda Huffman of Indianola, Wanita Huffman of Altoona, IA, Vicki Egeland of Trenton and Carla Leffler of Gladstone.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Egeland; a son, Keith Huffman; and two sisters, including Thersa Bedford.
Memorials have been suggested to the Freida Huffman Memorial Fund and can be left at the funeral home.
