Very few races have developed thus far as filing is now under way for the April 6 municipal and school elections in the area.
Only two entities have contested races thus far. Persons wanting to be a candidate in the April election have until Jan. 20 to file in their respective voting entity.
Races thus far are for the North Central Missouri College Board of Trustees, where three persons have filed as candidates for two six-year positions. Those filing include incumbents Diane Raynes and Chris Hoffman as well as Don Dalrymple.
The other race is at Laredo, where two persons have filed for the south ward alderman’s position. They include Justin Reeter and David Davis.
Candidates filing thus far include:
Trenton R-9 – Johnathan Smith and Steve Holt. The terms of Dr. John Holcomb and Laura Meek expire.
Pleasant View R-6 – Don Meservey*. The terms of Meservey and Keith Knapp expire.
Laredo R-7 – none. The terms of Mona Shiflett and Stephen Lowrey expire.
Spickard R-2 – none. The terms of Gary Walters and Colene Quintana expire.
Grundy R-5 – none. The terms of Mike Callen and Brian Peterson expire.
Princeton R-5 – Kent Donelson* and Gene Anderson. The terms of Donelson and Dena Reger expire.
Harrison County R-4 at Gilman City – none. The terms of Kirby Payne and Bruce Williams expire.
Tri-County R-7 at Jamesport – Tim Wahlers*. The term of Wahlers and Neal Lovell expire.
Newtown-Harris – none. The terms of Tim Tucker and David Brown expire.
North Central Missouri College – Diane Raynes*, Chris Hoffman* and Don Dalrymple. The terms of Mrs. Raynes and Hoffman expire.
City
Trenton – Dr. Nick McHargue*, first ward; Kenneth Ewing*, second ward; Gary Hurst*, third ward*; and none in fourth ward. The terms of McHargue, Ewing, Hurst and Troy Smith expire.
Laredo – John Molloy*, mayor; Justin Reeter and David Davis, south ward alderman; and none filed for south ward alderman. The terms of John Molloy, mayor, Josh Carpenter in the north ward and George Griffin in the south ward expire.
Galt – none. The terms of Rick Tunnell, and Charlie Smiley, south ward aldermen, and Sylvia Berry, north ward alderman, expire.
Spickard – none. The terms of Harry Brown, north ward alderman, J.R. Roberts and Jim Standiford, south ward aldermen, and Rick Crawford, special road district, expire.
Jamesport – none. The terms of Jerry Pierce, east ward alderman, and Virginia Hopkins and John Beckner, west ward aldermen, expire. There are also two park board positions open.
Princeton – Mike Greenlee*, mayor; George Scurlock*, south ward alderman; and Cliff Gauldin*, north ward alderman. The terms of Greenlee, Scurlock and Gauldin expire.
