William Paul ?Bill? Fair, a 66-year-old resident of rural Princeton, died on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 at his home, southwest of Princeton.

The body was cremated. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel at Princeton. Pastor Dan Wilford will officiate.

An open visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. There is no planned family visitation.

Mr. Fair was born Oct. 4, 1937 in Mercer County, the son of William Wilbur and Genevieve Marie Wright Fair. He was raised and educated in Mercer County. After his schooling, he joined the Marine Corps, where he served from 1955 to 1960. He lived most of his adult life in Trenton, where he was self-employed in dairy farm equipment sales.

Mr. Fair was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church, then transferred his membership to the Modena Baptist Church when he returned to Mercer County in the early 1980?s. He was also an active member of Mercer Lodge No. 35, AF&AM of Princeton.

He was married on Feb. 22, 2002 to Donna Sue Smith, who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, other survivors are one son, David Fair and his wife, Katina, of Trenton; one daughter, Marjorie Porter and her husband, James, of Summerville, SC; a half-brother, Steve Stockman and his wife, Dianna, of Princeton; two step-sons, Doug and Jerry Griffin of Des Moines, IA; three step-daughters, Mary Ann Mann of Jamesport, Shawn Pettit of Trenton and Pamela Raile of Sioux Falls, SD; 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and other friends and relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Michael Stockman.
