Ruth Brick Parker, an 83-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Friday, Dec. 12, 2003 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003 at the Wesley United Methodist Church. Rev. Barry Boulware will officiate. Burial will be at the Stucker Cemetery, southeast of Trenton.
Visitation is scheduled from 7 to 8 o’clock tonight (Monday, Dec. 15, 2003) at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mrs. Parker was born on Oct. 23, 1920 in Miles City, MT, the daughter of Herbert K. and Myrtle Rehaume Petterson. She graduated in 1938 from Trenton High School. She married Clyde E. Brick of Laredo on March 13, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1975. She married George H. Parker of Camilla, GA in October 1978 and lived for many years in North Carolina and New Jersey. Following Mr. Parker’s death in 1990, she returned to Trenton as a permanent resident.
Mrs. Parker was an accomplished art hobbyist and enjoyed boating. She was very active in the Wesley United Methodist Church and was a leader in the Trenton High School Class of 1938 social activities.
Mrs. Parker is survived by three sons, Jon Brick and his wife, Judi, of Bellingham, WA, James Brick and his wife, Marsha, of Newport, RI, and David Brick and his wife, Cindy, of Castle Rock, CO; three sisters, Frances Mead of Mission, KS, Erlene Gallion of Sauk Rapids, MN and June Gott of Trenton; one brother, P.W. “Bill” Petterson of Trenton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma White.
The family has suggested memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, the Multiple Myelomia Foundation or the donor’s choice.
