The Tri-County R-7 Board of Education met Wednesday night at Jamesport, purchasing equipment and conducting the superintendent’s evaluation.

According to information provided by Superintendent Ron Garber, the board authorized the purchase of a personal lift for $3,500, which will be used mainly in the gymnasium. The Professional Development Committee Plan was accepted by the board, which also agreed to keep the same liability and property coverage as last year. The board agreed to pay for a teacher to take the Praxis test so that she may teach Spanish and will reimburse another teacher’s tuition for alternative certification. It was agreed to renew a $250,000 certificate of deposit with the Home Exchange Bank for six months. Garber will check with the city of Jamesport about parking lot snow removal and, if the city is not interested in doing the work, bids will be sought.

The board went into executive session for the superintendent’s evaluation. No other information was available.

The board will hold its next meeting on Monday, Jan. 12.
