Mabel Edmundson, a 96-year-old resident of Galt, died at 11:22 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003 at the Payne Funeral Home in Galt. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, south of Shafter in Linn County.
There is no scheduled family visitation planned at the funeral home.
Mrs. Edmundson was born on Feb. 21, 1907 in Linn County, the daughter of Benton and Nora Dudley Dennis. She was married on April 1, 1934 at Chillicothe to Clarence H. “Bert” Edmundson, who preceded her in death. They lived all their married lives in Linn County. She moved to Galt several years ago before moving to the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Edmundson is survived by two sons, Clarence and George Edmundson, both of Galt; a sister, Clema Harvey of Brookfield; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Dean and Vickie Edmundson; two brothers, Alvin Dennis and Jesse Dennis; and two sisters, Goldie Wiley and Helen Cooper.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
