Lorraine Lillian Marlay, an 89-year-old resident of Milan, died on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003 at the Milan Health Care Facility, where she had resided since 1993.

Lorraine Lillian Marlay, an 89-year-old resident of Milan, died on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003 at the Milan Health Care Facility, where she had resided since 1993.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003 at the Kent Funeral Chapel in Milan. Rev. Dr. Pamela Brakhage officiated.
Music was provided by Audrey Jones and Elaine Frazier. Karen Crawford was the organist.
Pallbearers were Martin Callihan, Roger Callihan, Justin Callihan, Jerry Marlay, Gary Lawrence and Phillip Lawrence.
Burial was in the Deep Spring Cemetery, southeast of Milan.
Mrs. Marlay was born Oct. 11, 1914 in Sullivan County, the daughter of Ralph and Bessie M. Neely Lawrence. She was married at Milan on Dec. 23, 1933 to Lee Albert Marlay, who survives of the health care facility.
Survivors include one son, Leman Marlay and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Chillicothe; one daughter, Verleta Callihan and her husband, Bill, of Humphreys; six grandchildren, Martin Callihan and his wife, Amy, of Humphreys, Brian Callihan and his wife, Carolyn, of Rocklin, CA, Roger Callihan and his wife, Becky, of Humphreys, Jan Shettle and her husband, Stewart, of Baltimore, MD, Jerry Marlay and his wife, Beth, of Columbia and Jill Allgood and her husband, David, of Superior, NE; eight great-grandchildren, Chad and Justin Callihan, Amber and Sarah Callihan, Harley and Daniel Allgood and David and Rachel Marlay; one brother, Leland Lawrence and his wife, Irene, of Milan; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eunice Bunch; her brother-in-law, Wilburn Bunch; and a great-granddaughter, Amanda Jane Callihan.
