Kenneth Evans Wolz, an 85-year-old resident of Portland, OR, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, in Portland. He was a native of Trenton.
Graveside services will be scheduled later at South Evans Cemetery in Grundy County, where five generations of his family are buried.
Mr. Wolz was born April 5, 1918, in Trenton. He graduated from Trenton High School, Trenton Junior College and the University of Missouri-Columbia. He received a masters degree in hospital administration from the University of Minnesota. He was administrator/CEO of Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria, OR. Norwegian Lutheran Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, Lutheran Hospital in St. Louis and Saginaw General Hospital in Saginaw, MI. He a volunteer with the International Executive Service Corps at hospitals in Thailand, Philippines and Ukraine. He was active in the Lutheran Church, Rotary Club, Boy Scouts and numerous professional and civic organizations.
Mr. Wolz was married in 1945 to Anne Amanda Meyer, who died in 1989. He was married in 1991 to Betty Amundson Fosdick, who died in 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Wolz of New York, NY and John Wolz of Portland, OR and formerly of Trenton; one daughter, Sara Wolz McFee of New Brighton, MN; and seven grandchildren.
In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by two sons, Karl Meyer Wolz in 1956 and Paul Holum Wolz in 1998; his parents; two brothers, Conrad Wolz and Donald Wolz ; and two sisters, Kathryn Dee Wolz Kelly and Anna Louise Wolz Liston,
