The North Missouri Solid Waste Management District, based at Trenton, has received a $20,000 grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

The grant comes from tipping fees charged to each ton of waste disposed of in Missouri landfills or processed through transfer stations that move waste out of state. The money will allow the district to fund operational costs, including programs related to the reduction of solid waste disposal in Missouri, as well as implementation of the district’s solid waste management plan and expenses related to administration and operation of the district.

The North Missouri Solid Waste Management District serves the counties of Grundy, Harrison, Daviess, Mercer, Livingston, Linn, Putnam, Sullivan, Caldwell, Carroll and Chariton and is administered through the Green Hills Regional Planning Commission.
