Raymond Harold Baker, an 88-year-old resident of Eastview Manor Care Center, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003 at the care center.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton. Rev. Guy Olin Thomas and Pastor Richard Key officiated.
Burial was in the Princeton Cemetery.
Mr. Baker was born in Mercer County on Sept. 25, 1915, the son of Franklin Marion and Bertha Fisher Baker. He was married on Dec. 4, 1949 to Helen Beatrice Moore. She preceded him in death on Jan. 16, 1973.
Mr. Baker lived most of his life in Mercer County, where he was a farmer and drove a school bus for 24 years for the Princeton R-5 School District. He moved from his farm southeast of Princeton several years ago to an apartment in Trenton. He had been a resident of Eastview Manor since March 2001.
Mr. Baker was a member of the Modena Baptist Church.
Mr. Baker is survived by two sons, Bill Baker and his wife, Mary J., of Trenton, and Bob Baker and his wife, Jessie, of Princeton; five grandchildren, David Baker and his wife Suzie, Mary Baker, Crystal Mathews and her husband Doug, Misty Wallace and her husband, Tim, and Shawn Baker; four great-grandchildren, Cristopher Baker, Brianne and Brooke Wallace and Jasmine Mathews; and one brother, Delbert Baker of St. Joseph.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Baker was preceded in death by two sisters, Alta Campbell and Ella Collings; and one brother, Wade Baker.
