Five girls and five boys are entered in the 2004 Little Miss and Mister Trenton competition, sponsored by the Miss Trenton Area Scholarship Pageant.

Selection of the 2004 royalty will be by the penny-a-vote method, with all money to be used to fund scholarships for the Miss Trenton and Miss Green Hills pageants, scheduled for Jan. 3 at the Ketcham Community Center.

Voting is under way and each contestant has a can located in an area business where persons can vote.

The new Little Miss and Mister Trenton will be named during the opening ceremonies for the Missouri Day Festival, scheduled at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16 at the former Adams Middle School auditorium. They will also take part in the Miss Trenton and Miss Green Hills pageants as well as participate in various community activities, including the Missouri Day Parade.

Contestants and the place of business in which their can is located include:

Chelsea Carter, age 5, daughter of Lisa Grimes and Paul Carter, 17th Street Casey’s.

Hadley Windsor, age 5, daughter of Tom and Amanda Lamma Woodin and Brad Windsor, Trenton Main Stop.

Shelby Wendt, age 4, daughter of Jeremy and Ashley Wendt and Chrystal Johnson, Hy-Vee.

Coryn Clark, age 7, daughter of Jamie Brown, Hardee’s.

Kathleen McKibben, age 6, daughter of Lisa M. McKibben, Lakeview Motor Lodge.

Tyler Hawkins, age 4, son of Michael Hawkins and Lynn Hawkins, Pizza Hut.

Isaiah Phillips, age 5, son of Josh and Sheila Phillips, 17th Street Casey’s.

Jose Barron IV, age 5, son of Jose and Dena Barron, Trenton Amoco.

Christopher Brown, age 4, son of Chris and Melody Brown, Pizza Hut.

Jadde Blozovich, age 7, son of Corenna Still, Pamida.

Voting continue through Oct. 15.
