The Spickard R-2 Board of Education held a special meeting Monday night, amending its tax levy after receiving additional information on the assessed valuation of the district.
According to Board Secretary Makella Thompson, the board set the levy at $4.4692 on the $100 assessed valuation, with $3.8233 of that figure going to the incidental fund and .6459 going to debt service fund. The new levy is an increase of .1034 over the levy set in August. Ms. Thompson said the change was necessary because when the levy was sent to the state, the state sent back a correction showing figures for new construction and improvements which the district had not received.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Oct. 22.
