The Trenton High School girls softball team went 1-2 in the Nan Carter Softball Tournament held over the weekend in Trenton. The tournament was sponsored by the North Central Missouri College women’s softball team and included 12 teams in two divisions.

The Trenton High School girls softball team went 1-2 in the Nan Carter Softball Tournament held over the weekend in Trenton. The tournament was sponsored by the North Central Missouri College women’s softball team and included 12 teams in two divisions.
The Lady Bulldogs won the consolation game in the Red Division, defeating Clinton, 9-3. Bevier took first place in the Red Division. Other teams in the Red Division include, Raytown South, Clinton, Moberly and Smithville.
Teams in the White Division included Lawson, North Harrison, Putnam County, Odessa, Scotland County and Sedalia Smith-Cotton. Lawson won the White Division.
Each division was broken into two pools. The Lady Bulldogs were in the B pool of the Red Division which included Bevier and Raytown South.
The Lady Bulldogs lost their opening game to Bevier, 3-2. Ashley Hutchinson took the loss for Trenton, allowing three earned runs on seven hits. Hutchinson also walked one and struck out two. Colbi Hanes had a double and an RBI. Alana Tolle had a hit, a stolen base and one RBI.
THS lost its second game to Raytown South, 8-2. Amber Daniels allowed five runs on 10 hits to take the loss for the Lady Bulldogs. She also struck out four batters. Hutchinson had two hits, an RBI and a stolen base.
Hutchinson was the winning pitcher in the consolation championship game against Clinton. She allowed one earned run on six hits. She also struck out two and walked five.
Courtney Cox had two hits and three RBIs. Amber Vandevender had two hits, including a triple, and stole a base. She also had two runs scored and two RBIs.
The Lady Bulldogs’ record is 4-8 and they host the Lady Midgets of Putnam County, who were the White Division?s runner-up. The game is scheduled for 5 o’clock tonight and will be played at Griffin Field.
