The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that Harris Avenue will be closed for approximately two weeks beginning Monday as part of the bridge replacement project on Ninth Street.

The first closure will begin Monday and will be located north of the Harris Avenue and Ninth Street intersection. A second closure, which will begin Sept. 29, will be located south of the Harris Avenue and Ninth Street intersection. Both locations are expected to reopen Oct. 3, weather permitting. Alternate routes around the Harris Avenue closure are already marked and motorists are encouraged to pay close attention to directional signs and to use caution in the work area.

Columbia Curb and Gutter has been working on the approximately $2.3 million project since February and MoDOT officials expect drivers to be using the new bridge in November.
