Lola Mae Fender, a 93-year-old resident of Jamesport, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003 at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery at Jamesport.

Mrs. Fender was born Oct. 16, 1909 in Dawn, the daughter of William Elbert and Maude Hininger Haynes. She graduated in 1928 from Gallatin High School. She was married on July 24, 1930 at Gallatin to Gordon Fender, who preceded her in death in 1993. They lived and farmed in the Jamesport area, then moved to Illinois, where they owned and operated a hotel and restaurant. In 1957 they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, where they owned and operated the Snug Harbor Resort in Osage Beach for 20 years. After retiring, they moved to Eldon for a short period of time, then returned to Jamesport in 1985 to make their home.

Mrs. Fender was a member of the Polly Anna Club in Jamesport and the First Christian Church in Gallatin.

Survivors include a brother, Arland Haynes of Gallatin; four nephews; and one niece.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Haynes, in 1995.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the First Christian Church building fund at Gallatin.
