Dale H. Brinser, an 87-year-old resident of Cookeville, TN, died on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003 in Cookeville.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at the IOOF Cemetery in Trenton under the direction of Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.

Mr. Brinser was born in Trenton on May 13, 1916, the son of William F. and Ida Hopkins Brinser. He spent his childhood in St. Joseph and worked as a division sales manager for Clarke Flooring Machine Company in Kansas City for many years before changing careers in 1970. He moved to Forsyth, in southeast Missouri, and opened a real estate office.

Mr. Brinser was an avid golfer, caddying as a youngster in St. Joseph and enjoying the game until well into his 70’s, winning many tournaments in his local area. He was first runner-up in the state amateur golf tournament one year. He also loved fishing, especially for bass.

He is survived by his daughter, LaDonna B. Shepherd and her husband, Donald, of Cookeville; one son, Donald Brinser and his wife, Carlen, of Bettendorf, IA; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, and seven brothers and sisters.
