North Central Missouri College Adult Education and Literacy has announced the GED class site on campus is moving.

The new location will be on the corner of Tinsman Avenue and Lulu Street on the south end of the college maintenance building. Classes will begin on Monday Sept. 8.

?Due to expansion of Adult Education services offered by NCMC, the move of the classroom was necessary?, said John Stains, Director of Adult Education & Literacy. ?The Ritze Building which currently houses the GED class will be used for the New Missouri AEL Professional Development Center (administrative offices) operated by NCMC starting Oct. 1.?

Class times will continue to be Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

People who have not finished high school, are 16 years of age or older, and are not enrolled in school can get free assistance in getting their General Equivalency Diploma. AEL can also help anyone improve basic education skills or just brush up on subjects. All materials and instruction are provided free of charge, and adults can set up their own schedule on when to attend classes, said Stains.

The AEL Program is supported by local, state and federal funds and currently operates in the Bethany, Brookfield, Chillicothe, Gallatin, Hamilton, Princeton, Trenton and Unionville areas.
