Classes began today in the Laredo R-7 and Grundy R-5 school districts, with enrollment down at Laredo and the same at Grundy R-5.

Classes began today in the Laredo R-7 and Grundy R-5 school districts, with enrollment down at Laredo and the same at Grundy R-5.

Laredo had 42 students report for classes, which is down six students from a year ago. Enrollment by grade includes kindergarten, 4; first grade, 3; second grade, 9; third grade, 11; fourth grade, 2; fifth grade, 0: sixth grade, 2; seventh grade, six; and eighth grade, 5.

A total of 205 students are enrolled at Grundy R-5, including 102 at the high school (down 5 from a year ago) and 98 at the grade school (up 5 from a year ago). Enrollment by grades includes kindergarten, 15; first grade, 10; second grade, 13; third grade, 22; fourth grade, 13; fifth grade, 14; sixth grade, 16; seventh grade, 16; eighth grade, 14; ninth grade, 19; 10th grade, 19; 11th grade, 14; and 12th grade, 20.

Classes begin on Wednesday at Trenton, Spickard, Princeton, Gilman City and Newtown-Harris. Jamesport students report to class on Monday, Aug. 25.
