Electrical Outage Hits Trenton
Portions of the city of Trenton were without electricity on Saturday night when an underground line fault at 28th Street and Oklahoma Avenue knocked out power to about 25 percent of Trenton Municipal Utilities customers.
TMU Director Chad Davis said the outage occurred around 9 p.m. and although most customers were back on within 60 to 90 minutes, Davis said some customers were without electricity until around midnight.
The outage began with one circuit, but eventually knocked out power in the north substation, which affected customers north of Highway 6 in the east part of town. While power has now been restored, Davis said TMU officials are looking at some upgrade work to prevent future problems, including removal of the affected underground line and placing it aboveground.
