The Tri-County R-7 Board of Education met Tuesday night, setting the date for a tax levy hearing, approving the secretary of the board report and hiring a teacher?s aide.
According to information provided by Superintendent Ron Garber, the board approved the Annual Secretary of the Board Report, which shows the district ending the fiscal year with a fund balance of $1,030,506.The board approved the ethics, the conflict of interest and financial disclosure policies. These policies must be updated and approved every two years. The board agreed to transfer $140,283 to Fund 4 for maintenance and/or replacement of facilities, equipment and necessary materials to be spent by the 2013-2014 school year.
In other business, the board set the tax rate hearing for 7 p.m., Aug. 28 in the boardroom and employed Betty Gooding as a teacher?s aide. The elementary handbook was also approved.
The board will meet in a closed session at 8 p.m., Aug. 14 to discuss a student matter. The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 10.
