Water customers of the City of Laredo are being alerted that their water was not tested for contaminants during the month of June.

According to information provided by Larry Marrs, a city employee, the water was not tested for total coliform bacteria in June and therefore, city officials cannot be sure of the quality of the drinking water during that time. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources requires that drinking water from the city?s supply be tested for this type of bacteria by submitting at least one valid sample per month. The monitoring failure occurred when city employees forgot to obtain a sample and send it to the DNR. For more information, persons may contact Marrs at 286-2632.
