The Gilman City Fair will be held this Friday and Saturday at the fairgrounds near the Harrison County R-4 School.
Gilman City Fair Is This Weekend
The Gilman City Fair will be held this Friday and Saturday at the fairgrounds near the Harrison County R-4 School.
The beef show will be held on Friday, with the bucket calf show to start at 6:30 p.m., followed by the breeding beef and steer shows. Entries for the beef show will be taken at 5 p.m.
Saturday’s livestock judging includes the ladies lead line at 9 a.m., with the sheep show to follow, and the swine show at 6 p.m. Entries for the sheep show will be taken at 8 a.m. while the swine show entries will be taken at 4 p.m.
The baby show will be held at 6 p.m. in the ag building with prizes to be given in five age groups, both boys and girls. Entries will be taken at 5:30 p.m.
A talent show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. A total of $400 in prize money will be awarded. Competition categories include ages 11-and-under, dance, vocal and other; age 12 to 16, dance, vocal and other; and ages 17-and-over, dance, vocal and other. Entries will be accepted beginning at 7 p.m.
There will be 4-H exhibits on display in the ag building, with entries being taken from 1 to 5 p.m. on Thursday and judging to take place after 5 p.m. Entries will be picked up on Saturday afternoon. The Gilman City FFA chapter will also have a food stand on the fairgrounds.
