Florence Irene Hejna, an 85-year-old resident of Rock Springs, WY, died on Sunday, March 2, 2003 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs. She was a longtime resident of Rock Springs.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at the Stucker Cemetery, southwest of Laredo.
Mrs. Hejna was born in Laredo on Dec. 24, 1917, the daughter of Abijah and Mamie MacCollum Martin. She attended school in Laredo and was a graduate of Laredo High School. She worked as a circulation clerk for the Rocket-Miner newspaper for many years.
She was married on May 12, 1949 in Buffalo to Joseph Hejna Jr. He preceded her in death in Reno, NV on July 10, 2001.
She is survived by one son, George R. Spencer of California; one daughter, Margaret L. Brown of California; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and one great-granddaughter.
