The Tri-County Board of Education met Thursday night at the school in Jamesport, hiring two individuals and accepting bids for 2003-2004.
According to information submitted by Superintendent Ron Garber, the board hired Kim Gozinger as a reading teacher at the elementary school and offered a contract to Troy Souders for the custodian/bus driver position for the 2003-2004 school year. Bids were accepted from Anderson Erickson for milk, Interstate Brands Co. for bread and MFA Oil for propane.
The board appointed Garber as the authorized representative for the district for all state, federal and other programs. It was decided to place a $250,000 certificate of deposit in the school checking account and the board authorized Garber to renew two more certificates of deposit. It was decided to keep lunch prices as well as tuition and ball game prices the same for next year.
Garber announced the district would be part of an Early Childhood Special Services cooperative with the Pleasant View R-6 School. The board approved the Core Data for the 2002-2003 school year and were told that repairs or replacement will be done to the elementary school doors and the ag shop doors.
A special meeting of the board was set for June 30 to close out the current fiscal year.
The next regular board meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 14.
