Viven Francis Oliphant, a 93-year-old resident of Gallatin, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at a Gallatin health care center. She was a former resident of Gilman City.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2003 at the Coffey Cemetery in Coffey. Visitation is under way at the Roberson Funeral Home in Gilman City. There is no scheduled family visitation.
Mrs. Oliphant was born Oct. 13, 1909 at Coffey, the daughter of Cyrus and Leota Odell Stith. She was married Aug. 29, 1927 to Howard Francis, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1964. She was married in 1978 to Beull Oliphant, who preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1990.
Mrs. Oliphant was a homemaker and worked at the Cap Factory and Trenton Foods. She was a member of the Coffey Baptist Church at Coffey.
Survivors include four daughters, Ruth Gay of Gallatin, Carol Ellis of Jamesport, Leota King of Gilman City and Louise Phillips of Londell; and 12 grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Billy Jean Francis; a brother, Glenn Stith; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Coffey Cemetery.
