The Grundy County Nursing Home District Board of Directors met Tuesday night at Sunnyview Nursing Home and Apartments, approve budgets and appointing a new board member.
Administrator Denella Marlay said the board approved the operating budget for the 2003-2004 year, which lists revenues at around $4 million and expenditures to be about the same. The capital improvements budget for the 2003-2004-2005 years was approved for $150,000.
Melvin Tuttle of Trenton was appointed to fill a vacancy on the board until the April election. He replaces John McCullough, who resigned last month. Phil Schlarb was also confirmed by the board as president.
Approval was given to sign a contract for pharmacy services with Hy-Vee Pharmacy. A committee, consisting of Larry Griffin, Phil Schlarb, Talma Holt and Mrs. Marlay, will review the board by-laws.
During an executive session, the board voted to give a 3 percent raise to Mrs. Marlay. Her salary will now be $76,300.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 17.
