James William Myers Sr., a 75-year-old resident of 415 E. Ninth St. in Trenton, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

James William Myers Sr., a 75-year-old resident of 415 E. Ninth St. in Trenton, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

The body was cremated and no services are planned. Slater Funeral Home in Trenton is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Myers was born July 15, 1927 in Browning, the son of Aubry Prentiss and Jesse Irene Tipton Myers. He attended school in Kansas City.

Mr. Myers worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and lived in California from 1952 to 1982. He had lived in Trenton since 1995. Mr. Myers was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He was married at Bentonville, AR on May 26, 1949 to Ruby Nelson, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include four daughters, Carolyn Myers of Trenton, Kathleen Myers of Trenton, Jamie Dean of Maiden, NC and Julianne Drum of Iron Station, NC; three sons, James Myers II of Mt. Moriah, John Myers of Trenton and Michael Myers of Phillipsburg, NJ; one uncle, Noel Myers of Woodstock, IL; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Bradley.
