A special luminaria ceremony will be held as part of the Grundy County Relay for Life activities, planned for June 20-21 at C.F. Russell Stadium.
The luminaria candles will be lit in memory of those lost to cancer as well as honoring those who have survived, with the ceremony scheduled for 9 p.m. on June 20. Luminarias are available for sale at a cost of $5, if purchased before the event, or $10, if purchased the night of the ceremony. Persons wanting to purchase a luminaria can do so by contacting the ACS office at Trenton, 359-4484.
Relay for Life activities get under way at 6 p.m. on June 20 with the survivor’s lap, followed by a host of events throughout the evening. The event will conclude at 7 a.m. on June 21.
