Personnel and building leases were among the items acted on by the Tri-County R-7 and Spickard R-2 boards of education during meetings this week.
Tri-County R-7
The Tri-County board renewed its building lease purchase with Missouri Public Facilities Leasing Corporation during its meeting on Tuesday night.
Information provided by Superintendent Ron Garber also indicated the board accepted the resignation of language arts teacher Melissa Robinson and hired Ellen Rickerson for high school special services next year. Home Exchange Bank was approved as the school depository for next year and it was decided to seek bids until June 11 for propane, milk and bread.
The board decided to pay bus drivers $8 an hour, with a minimum of $45, for Saturdays. Eleven graduates were certified for graduation.
The next meeting of the board will be on June 12.
Spickard R-2
The Spickard R-2 Board of Education hired a teacher at its meeting on Monday.
Principal Ruth Ann Shipps said Tiffany Crawford was hired to teach third and fourth grade next year. There are still vacancies for a special education teacher and a seventh and eighth grade teacher.
The board interviewed janitor candidates, but decided to advertise for two more weeks to have more candidates from which to choose.
An executive session was held for personnel, with no action taken.
The next regular board meeting will be May 28.
