An all-terrain vehicle accident at the Edinburg Cemetery on Friday afternoon claimed the life of a 14-year-old Edinburg boy and injured his sister.
Lucas Wiggins, 14, was pronounced dead at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton following the accident, which occurred around 5 p.m. According to the Highway Patrol, Lucas was the driver of the ATV, which was southbound in the cemetery, approaching a fence line. Lucas attempted to turn the vehicle to miss the fence, causing it to overturn and pin both himself and his sister, seven-year-old Rebekah Wiggins, underneath. Both were taken to the hospital. Lucas was a seventh grader at Trenton Middle School. Funeral services for the youth will be held on Tuesday.
