Dale M. Keith, a 75-year-old resident of 807 Rural St. in Trenton, died at 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at the Liberty Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past month.

Dale M. Keith, a 75-year-old resident of 807 Rural St. in Trenton, died at 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at the Liberty Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past month.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2003 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. The Rev. Ron Ratliff will officiate. Masonic rites will be held in conjunction with the service. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton, following military graveside rites.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 o’clock Wednesday, April 23, 2003) at the mortuary.
Mr. Keith was born June 15, 1927 near Eversonville in Linn County, the son of Ray O. and Sarah Alice Gipson Keith. He attended South Sabago, Meadville and Galt schools before enlisting in the U.S. Navy on Sept. 24, 1943. He served on board the USS Bunker Hill in the Pacific Theater during World War II until his discharge on May 5, 1947. After his discharge, he began working for the Rock Island Railroad.
Mr. Keith was married to Glenda Faye Wooderson on June 23, 1952 at the Grace Methodist Church in St. Louis. They lived in Des Moines, IA for one and one-half years before moving to Trenton.
Mr. Keith worked as an engineer for the Rock Island until it closed, then moved to Denison, TX, where he worked for the Katy railroad until he retired in 1986. He and his wife owned and operated the Bargain Spot in Trenton until 1999. For the past three years the couple was employed by the Federal Corps of Engineers at the Mark Twain Lake near Hannibal.
Mr. Keith was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church, the Trenton Masonic Lodge, the Moila Shrine, the Parson Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, the Joseph L. Norton Post No. 919, VFW and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
Mr. Keith is survived by his wife, Glenda Faye Keith of the home in Trenton; a daughter, Monica Lynn, now Mrs. Mike Burchett of Trenton; three sisters, Virginia Mae Lynch of Trenton, and Lula Grace Hudspeth and Bonnie Jean Gumm, both of Kansas City; two brothers, Wilbern Lawrence Keith of Diamondville, WY and Jerry Duane Keith of Coffeyville, KS; and three grandsons, Cody and twins, Carson Dale and Dalton Keith Burchett.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to either the Tenth Street Baptist Church or the Trenton Park Board.
