Several churches have announced plans for special services to celebrate the Easter season.

Several churches have announced plans for special services to celebrate the Easter season.

A pre-Easter breakfast for the women of the community will be at 7 a.m. on Wednesday at the First Baptist Church. A communitywide Easter pageant is planned in Spickard on Friday at 8 p.m. in the Spickard School gymnasium.

The list of special services includes:

First Assembly of Gold Church – An Easter cantata, “The Living Cross,” will be presented as part of the Good Friday service at 7 p.m. Regular Sunday worship services with communion will be held at 10:40 a.m.

First Baptist Church in Trenton – A musical, “Spread the News,” will be presented by the worship choir and drama team during the Sunday service at 10:40 a.m.

First Christian Church at Trenton – Maundy Thursday worship service will be at 7 p.m. The 24-Hour “Chain of Prayer” will begin at noon on Good Friday. On Easter Sunday, sunrise services will be held at the church at 6:30 a.m., with a continental breakfast to follow. A special Easter worship service will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Galt Christian Church – A Good Friday service will be held at 7:30 p.m., with communion being served. A community Easter breakfast and sunrise service is planned at 7 a.m. on Sunday at the Galt Baptist Church. There will be no evening worship services at the Christian Church.

Hodge Presbyterian Church – Maundy Thursday services, including communion, will be held at 7 p.m. Church members will participate in an ecumenical sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday at the Moberly Park enclosed shelterhouse. Regular services are 9:30 a.m. for Sunday school and 10:50 a.m. for worship.

Immanuel Lutheran Church at Trenton – Maundy Thursday services are at 7 p.m. An Easter sunrise service will be at 7 a.m. on Sunday at the church, with a breakfast to follow. There will be no Sunday school.

Rural Dale Baptist Church – A sunrise service and breakfast is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, with Sunday school at 9 a.m. Church services featuring special Easter music will be at 10 a.m. There will be no evening services.

St. Philip’s Episcopal Church – Maundy Thursday Holy Eucharist services will be at 6 p.m. Good Friday services will be at 5:30 p.m. A “Great Vigil of Easter” will be held on Saturday at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday services will be at 10:30 a.m.

Shelburne Baptist Church – A sunrise service will be held at 6:15 a.m., followed by breakfast and the regular Sunday and church services. There will be no evening services.

South Evans Christian Church – A “Chain of Prayer” will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. An early Easter service is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Sunday, with breakfast to follow. Sunday school will be at 9:45 a.m. and church services will be at 10:45 a.m.

Spickard Baptist Church – An Easter breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. on Sunday with the worship service to follow at 9 a.m.

Tenth Street Baptist Church – Maundy Thursday services will be at 9 a.m. Good Friday services are scheduled for 7 p.m. A devotional service will be held at 7 a.m. on Sunday, followed by breakfast at 8 a.m. Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m. and worship services will be at 10:30 a.m.

Wesley United Methodist Church – Maundy Thursday tennebrae services will be at 7 p.m. at the church and will include a cantata by the Wesley Chancel Choir. A Good Friday service will be held at 7 p.m. Church members will participate in a Sunrise service at Moberly Park on Sunday at 6:30 a.m. The Easter service will be at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday.
