Imogene Lucille Jobe Healey, a former Grundy County and Trenton resident, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003 at Lancaster, CA, where she had resided the past 17 years.

mogene Lucille Jobe Healey, a former Grundy County and Trenton resident, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003 at Lancaster, CA, where she had resided the past 17 years.

Mrs. Jobe was the first born of Mary Adelia Thompson Jobe and Joseph Walden Jobe, and granddaughter of William and Minnie (Stotts) Thompson Pence and Charles and Hattie (Vencill) Jobe of Grundy County, having been born on Sept. 9, 1922. She attended Trenton schools and churches, developing her love of the musical performing arts. She lived in Trenton until high school, when her family relocated to Bowling Green, OH.

After graduation, Mrs. Jobe embarked on a 28-year career as a big band singer and Hollywood studio vocalist. Notable society bands and groups included Emerson Gil, Ray McKinley, Freddy Slack, Artie Shaw, the MerriMacs and the Starlighters. She also sang on- and off-camera for numerous films, commercials, television shows, records and cartoons. Of repute were sessions with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and in ?Diamonds are a Girl?s Best Friend? with Marilyn Monroe.

Mrs. Jobe relocated to work in Los Angeles during World War II and remained in Southern California for most of her adult life. In addition to her career aspirations, Mrs. Jobe also took pride in home and family.

Mrs. Jobe is survived by her three children, Deborah, Julie and Kevin Clark, all who live in Los Angeles County, CA; four grandchildren; two brothers. Max Jobe of Ida, MI and Larry Jobe of Macon, GA; and two sisters, Catherine Jobe McIntire of Casper, WY and Barbara Jobe Haber of Las Vegas, NV.
