Mr. Everett M. Laswell, a 68-year-old resident of Mercer, died Saturday March 22, 2003 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday April 2, 2003 at the Wise and Slater Funeral Chapel in Spickard. Rev. Ronald Helton will officiate. Burial will be in the Half Rock Cemetery.
A family visitation will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2003, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
Mr. Laswell was born on Oct. 8, 1934 at Harris, the son of Francis Marion and E. Lucille Deeds Laswell. He attended Harris schools. He has been a resident of Mercer for 27 years. He was a 20-year retired veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict. He also was a retired employee of Modine Manufacturing at Trenton after working there for 21 Years.
He was married on Nov. 28, 1959 to Marilyn Ann Minshall at Princeton. She died on Sept. 3, 1999.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Durbin and her husband, Jerry, of Chillicothe; one son, Jimmie Laswell and his wife, Brandi, of Mercer; one sister, Helen McAlistar and her husband, Spanky, of Milan; and four grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
