Harold E. “Mac” McLaughlin, a 71-year-old resident of California, died on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003 in Visalia, CA, with complications from heart surgery.

Harold E. “Mac” McLaughlin, a 71-year-old resident of California, died on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003 in Visalia, CA, with complications from heart surgery.
The body was cremated and a memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the Spickard Christian Church. The cremains will be buried at the Masonic Cemetery, east of Spickard. He was remembered by family and friends at Visalia in services on Saturday, March 1, 2003 and Sunday, March 2, 2003 at the West McKinley Assembly of God Church in Fresno, CA.
Mr. McLaughlin was born on Dec. 21, 1931 in Grundy County, the oldest son of Garland and Dorothy Sharp McLaughlin/. He graduated from Denslow Grade School and Spickard High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a salesman by choice and left Missouri to settle in California, where he continued his sales career. He later moved to Lake Tahoe, NV, where he owned and operated the Old Prospectors Real Estate Agency.
Mr. McLaughlin was active in the Elks and Moose lodges, serving in many offices, including exalted ruler in the Elks Lodge #2904 at Lake Tahoe from 1982 to 1983.
Mr. McLaughlin enjoyed music, joking and good times, and was very talented at doing woodworking and other projects.
Mr. McLaughlin is survived by his wife, Janie Lowrey McLaughlin of Cainsville; five daughters, Debra and Denise of New Mexico, Diane and Sandy of Fresno, CA and Billie Jo of Modesto, CA; three step-daughters, Gloria Furnish of Lee’s Summit, Linda Davis of Lineville, IA and Joyce Meinecke of Mercer; two stepsons, Sterling Lowrey of Bethany and Steve Lowrey of Cainsville; one sister, Kay Childs of Belton; and three brothers, Eugene McLaughlin of Stillwater, OK, Gary McLaughlin of Lee’s Summit and Ray McLaughlin of Missouri.
