Edwin E. Allen, a 73-year-old resident of St. Charles, died today (Tuesday, March 18, 2003) at All Saints Special Care.

Edwin E. Allen, a 73-year-old resident of St. Charles, died today (Tuesday, March 18, 2003) at All Saints Special Care.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. A visitation will be held at the funeral home in Trenton at 12:30 p.m. until service time on March 22. A visitation is also planned from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2003 at the Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
Mr. Allen was born on Nov. 2, 1929 in Brimson, the son of Leo Rolla and Ethel Ann Allen. He was a cost accountant and was employed by John Morrell (formerly Krey-Hunter) at St. Louis for 24 years before he retired. He served in the U.S. Army from April 11, 1951 to April 10, 1953.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Hughs Allen of St. Charles; two sons, David Allen and his wife, Sandy, and Dennis Allen of St. Charles; one brother, Dean Allen of Melbourne, AR; two sisters, Thelma Clark and her husband, Bill, of Independence and Patricia Kutzli of Phoenix, AZ; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Katherine Allen of St. Charles; and one grandson, Robert Allen of St. Charles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Allen and Eldon Allen; and three sisters, Maxine Durrant, Verla Thomas and Mary Bunds.
