To show support for the 1221st Batallion of the Army National Guard unit at Trenton, the city of Trenton will take the guard convoy through the downtown on Thursday prior to their deployment to Ft. Leonard Wood.

The convoy is scheduled to leave the armory around 10:30 a.m., traveling west past Bond Wholesale before turning south onto Mable and to the intersection of 17th and Mable streets. The convoy will then go west to Main Street, heading south to the intersection of Ninth Street, where it will continue east to Highway 65.

The city is inviting the public to watch along city streets as the convoy passes. Trenton Police Chief Bob Lewis is asking that motorists not park near the intersections where the large units are making turns.
