The Jamesport City Council met Tuesday night, agreeing to purchase new water meters and announced an agreement for bids for the public restroom project at City Hall.

Mayor J.L. Eckelberry discussed the need for new water meters, saying that water loss exceeding 10 percent would indicated that old meters are registering less water than used, hidden leaks or users that are not metered. The council voted to purchase 100 meters at a cost of $44.50 each. The mayor also advised the council that a contract agreement with Leonard Sibbit of Trenton has been issued in the amount of $34,900 for the public restroom project. This decision had been reached during a special council meeting on March 7.

The next regular meeting will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 9.
